Welcome to the Community Advisory Group for the Consent Decree (CAG-CD)
The CAG-CD is comprised of area residents nominated and selected to further public participation in the various remediation and clean-up plans ordered in the Consent Decree of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama (October 2002).
The CAG-CD provides a forum for the exchange of information between the citizens of the affected areas, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Pharmacia Corporation, Solutia, Inc, Monsanto Company and other federal state and local officials.
Specifically, the Consent Decree concludes an environmental cleanup plan for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) in a broad area defined as the “Anniston PCB Site”. The Site includes property emanating from the Solutia Plant in west Anniston into Snow and Choccolocco Creeks and their floodplains, through numerous residential and commercial properties in Anniston and Oxford and continuing down Choccolocco Creek to Logan Martin Lake in Talladega and St. Clair Counties.
